AEI's cargo door has earned a reputation of being the most robust and reliable in the conversion industry. The cargo door is hydraulically operated and actuated from the inside of the aircraft by an independent system. The door control and hydraulic panel are located on the 9g barrier, allowing a single person to operate the door.

On the main deck of the aircraft the passenger interior is removed, the side walls are replaced with cargo liner, an independent smoke detection system is installed, floor beams are reinforced, and seat tracks are added to accommodate a cargo loading system.

AEI has developed over 130 Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and has modified more than 510 aircraft, more than any other conversion provider. AEI’s STCs have been certified by regulatory authorities around the world including EASA, China, Canada, Russia, and Brazil.

AEI is also an FAA approved Repair Station and performs hydraulic components repairs and overhauls. The company also offers recertification capabilities.
